Volunteering for LaDonna Renee VST Foundation, Inc. (Find Your Voice V/S/T), a foundation run and founded by LaDonna Renee, was such a beautiful experience. LaDonna is such an incredible person and gives an outlet to women who have survived horrible situations and abuse. I have never experienced such vulnerability and closeness with a group of women like that before. I especially loved writing a supportive note for each speaker, and handing it to them at the end of their presentation. Hearing these incredibly brave and strong women’s stories was so empowering. I had the pleasure of hosting LaDonna as a guest speaker in my class at San Diego State University: FratMANners (Fraternity Men Against Negative Environments and Rape Situations). LaDonna shared her personal story of triumph and survivorship to a group of impressionable, young, college men. She taught our students about sexual assault and how to support survivors. LaDonna has been invited back to speak every semester and she is always a favorite among the students. It has been an honor to learn from LaDonna. I had the opportunity to attend one of LaDonna’s safety workshops and realized right away how special she is.
